VAX2MUC Virtual Project Progress Meeting: Next Steps Unveiled

On 5 and 6 March 2025, Vax2Muc consortium held its regular virtual project progress meeting, bringing together experts from all over Europe to discuss the current status and coordinate future steps. Vax2Muc is an innovative initiative focused on developing cutting-edge vaccine technologies to overcome antimicrobial resistance of gastrointestinal mucosal pathogens compromising global public health.

Scientific Coordinator Dr Verena Friedrich kicked off the meeting by highlighting recent successes: "we are on track and confident in meeting the upcoming milestones.” The first project period ended in December last year, and partners completed key deliverables.

The meeting featured presentations from all partners involved in the project and was accompanied by vivid and very fruitful discussions on subsequent activities. 

The meeting concluded with a summary of next steps and a commitment to continue the Vax2Muc journey. The initiative remains a leading EU-funded project in vaccine research, aiming to develop next generation vaccines that prevent pathogen infection and/or protect from diseases caused by mucosal gastrointestinal/antimicrobial resistance pathogens.
